Eligible clients may now apply to renew their adult passport by post. Please note this only applies to the below.

Eligibility
For an Adult passport renewal, you must be 18 years and over and you will need a passport that:
- was issued when you were aged 16 or older
- was issued on or after 1 January 2006
- had, when it was issued, at least two years’ validity
- has your current name, date of birth, place of birth and gender, and
- has not been reported lost, stolen, or cancelled.
If you can answer yes to all the above, complete your passport renewal application (PC7) online and post to the appropriate address below. Do not send your passport with your application.

From 1 January 2023
Eligibility
Child passport renewal application/s (PC8) can be mailed-in provided the applicant is:
- Aged up to 15 years old and
- Has held a previous Australian passport
If you answer yes to the above, complete a Overseas Passport Application (PC8) form online for printing and post to the appropriate address below.
For first-time child applications and applicants aged 16-17, the application must be lodged in person by appointment only.

How to book an appointment
Passport services are provided during selected business hours, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).
An appointment is required prior to attending the High Commission (Wellington) or Consulate-General (Auckland).
The Australian High Commission in Wellington provides passport services to Australian citizens in New Zealand.
Passport counter opening hours:Monday to Friday 9:00am to 12:30pm and 1:00pm to 4:00pm Physical address: 72-76 Hobson Street, Thorndon, Wellington 6011.
We do not have onsite parking so please allow extra time. ALL visitors to our offices are subject to security measures. If you are asked to put items in storage, please take your paperwork and payment with you.
